Final Standings are in!
The 2007 Energy Bowl competition is completed and results are in.
The winners are: Kimball and Jenkins for the Dorm category with a 9.0% reduction in
energy, and Grove Lasuen and Columbae for the House category, with an
amazing 1/4 reduction in total energy usages.
Students living in these
winning residences will get free organic cotton t-shirts and have an
energy- or water-saving technology installed in their building to reward
them for all the effort they put into helping the planet.
This year, there were problems reading the water meters for many dorms, so
the water savings component of the competition was eliminated, and winning
results focused on energy readings. Overall, all undergraduate residences
reduced their energy consumption by 7% compared to the usage of last winter
quarter 2005-2006. Much thanks to all who worked to significantly reduce
their energy use and keep saving!
