What are we up to now? This part of the website aims to deliver a close-up view of many of the actual campaigns, events, and initiatives that Students for a Sustainable Stanford spearheads. Many of the projects involve other student groups and organizations beyond Campus Drive, but most of them depend crucially on the work of individual members of the team. As we look ahead to more and greater projects, we would love to have new leadership assume responsibility of them. // projects /
The scope of the work to which Students for a Sustainable Stanford commits itself year after year is daunting. Then again, the idea of sustainability itself encompasses a enormous number of ideas and interests, making our work that much more challenging and rewarding. While SSS is one unified organization, within the actual structure of the group, projects are assigned to their specific teams and people devote themselves readily to whichever task they have the time and talent for. This means that in meetings, we generate ideas between groups for part of the time, and then spend the rest of the time in smaller group settings to get real work done. And important work it is, as you will see in the pages that follow.
Each project has been divided into the main page which describes the idea and purpose of the project in general. Some projects also have year-specific pages, which describe in detail how each event was put together and by whom in that year, plus they might include links to the web material which was used during those projects.
