Kyoto anniversary

// projects / kyoto

To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the enactment of the Kyoto protocal in winter of 2006, we planned a publicity stunt in White Plaza:

“We thought of tug of war versus the Stanford Women's Rugby team to show the tug between the chaotic climate forces and the work of people trying to stop global warming. There was trouble finding a rope—I thought to check with Phi Psi since they do an annual tug of war but that rope had disappeared. Luckily, with the help of Emma and Eva, a rope was found in Columbae. Nicole helped out with getting the rugby team. The day of, we should have had a reporter from the Daily. It was rainy so that was bad for the spectators. Kind of a failed publicity stunt. But I am glad it happened. I sent several reminder emails and made signs and oversaw the event, but everyone helped out. It definitely required lots of emailing and badgering people.”
