Join us for a new speaker series featuring Stanford faculty who received the 2020 Accelerating Sustainability Research, Education, and Impact at Stanford and Beyond Seed Grants

These projects demonstrate the ambition of the Sustainability Initiative in education, research, and impact and are the vivid example of what Stanford seeks to achieve within the new school.  The talks are schedued on Wednesdays, August 25 - September 22, 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. PDT on zoom and are open to the Stanford Community.

On Wednesday, August 25, join us to hear about the following projects:

Fighting Fire with FIRE:  Preventing Catastrophic Wildfires in California and Beyond
Alexandra Konings, assistant professor of Earth system science; Michael Wara, senior research scholar at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment; and Meagan Mauter, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering

Developing Sustainable WUI Policies, Programs and Regulations for Wildfire Mitigation on California Rangeland
Bruce Cain, professor of political science; Kari Nadeau, professor of medicine and of pediatrics; and Inês Azevedo, associate professor of energy resources engineering
