When it begins operating in fall 2022, the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability will include nine departments, many of which build on the foundations of existing units, and will be expanded on through faculty from across Stanford who join the school and new hires in energy, climate, and areas of the humanities and social sciences. These names will be finalized by faculty who join the department.
Check back for lists of faculty in each department as we get closer to launch in September 2022.
Some of the new departments are formed from existing departments, and will be augmented by faculty hires:
- Geological Sciences
- Civil & Environmental Engineering (joint with the School of Engineering)
- Energy Science & Engineering
Other departments will be entirely new, formed through faculty joining the school and building on the foundation of Earth System Science:
- Environmental Behavior
- Environment & Ecosystems
- Climate Science
- Global Environmental Policy
