Chuck Litchfield announced as the COO and Senior Associate Dean for the new school

Email from Kathryn "Kam" Moler, transition dean of the new school, to faculty, students and staff in units forming the new school:

Please join me in welcoming Chuck Litchfield as the COO and SAD for the new school.

Chuck is currently Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs where he oversees the university’s budget and accounting functions, facilities and enrollment management. While at UCCS Chuck worked on the financial strength core strategy of the 2030 Strategic Plan and the implementation of the incentive-based budget model. During the past two years, he also served as the incident commander for the COVID-19 response, leading operational efforts through the pandemic.

Before joining UCCS, Chuck spent four years at Stanford as Associate Vice Provost for Finance and Administration of Undergraduate Education where he was responsible for accounting compliance, financial planning, administrative policy, human resources, information technology, communications and facilities.

In addition to his work in higher education, Chuck is a retired Navy Captain with 25 years of service and 3,000 flight hours.

I’m sure Chuck’s extensive experience with finance and operations along with his deep knowledge of Stanford will serve him well as he helps us create and operate the new school. He will start April 18 and his office will be in the dean’s office suite in the Mitchell Earth Sciences building.
